My goal is to provide a custom, boutique experience to the staff and families attending the schools who have chosen Susan Ditchfield Photography to photograph their students.
My service is personal and professional. In order to bring the best service possible, I only accept a few select schools each year so that I can provide superior customer service and beautiful images. I have been offering these portraits to the homeschool community since 2020 and I have developed a system that is efficient. Families will have a proofing gallery of the images within two weeks of Picture Day.
My aim is to capture the essence of each child in front of my camera. I will never force a smile. Gone are the days of awkward poses and goofy faces. No more "deer in the headlights" eyes -- each image you view will be beautiful and engaging. I focus on each child's individual facial expressions. I find this renders genuine and timeless portraits that parents are excited to have year after year. The kids are usually so relaxed and that shows naturally in their images.

What services do you offer?
I have been a portrait photographer since 2015 and have devoted many hours to studying light and posing. In 2020, I began offering School Pictures at my home for my homeschool community. In 2021, I provided all of the school photos for my homeschool coop. This consisted of approximately 150 students and adults combined.
I bring all of my own equipment needed -- including the backdrop and a stool for students to sit on. I use natural light, so all I need from your school is space and a window. I also bring my own assistant to help keep things in order with names of who is being photographed. However, having a parent volunteer provided by the school to bring the students from their classes helps keeps things moving quickly
Other than Picture Day, I am a completely online business. Your families will be linked to password-protected photo viewing gallery. Each child will be provided 2-5 images, presented in both color and black n white. A detailed digital PDF describing all ordering procedures and photoshoot day preparation will be provided to each school to be distributed to families prior to photo day.
Families can order digital images and/or physical prints online through the photo viewing gallery. I will personally deliver the physical prints directly to the school within six weeks of picture day.
I provide the school with all high-resolution digital files to use for yearbooks, website, school advertising, school ID's, or however the school wishes to use the images.
I handle any questions from parents and families about picture day, ordering and products.
I can provide headshots of each staff member depending on your school's needs.
What is the price for this service?
I have competitive rates and nothing is due up front, all profit is made from ordering. I offer a variety of collections and a-la-carte products to fit everyone's needs. CLICK HERE to download a sample price sheet (*please note, prices are subject to change). I can work with your school and tailor my offerings to meet the needs of your families. If your families would prefer only digital images, that is fine. This allows your families to print their images at their favorite photo lab. It also allows for a quicker turnaround time to get the images into the hands of your families.
Why would your school want to work with me?
I make Picture Day fun and seamless. I also send out prep materials so that parents can have their child ready before Picture Day. I am willing to communicate directly with parents to alleviate that point from your school.
How many students can you accommodate?
I can work with schools as large as 250 students. I have worked with hundreds of students since 2020 and am able to move quickly.
How is the ordering process handled?
Once the photos are ready, families are linked to password-protected online ordering galleries - in fact, everything is online! Each child will be provided 3-5 images, presented in both color and black n white. The family may choose the photos they want to purchase. Gone are the days of parents being given one pose only to consider printing.
Digital images are available for purchase -- in fact, most of my homeschool families prefer to purchase digital images only. They like the ability to share the images online, use for Christmas cards and print at their favorite photo lab. Digital purchases are ready to download within 24 hours of purchase and delivered directly to the parent's email address.
If your school would like to offer physical prints to your families, this ordering process is also done completely online. The process is easy and quick. Payment is made at the point of purchase using a credit card. All print orders will be ordered from my photo lab together and I will personally deliver them to your school within 4 weeks of the order deadline.

What color backgrounds do you work with?
I work with a solid black background. This gives each photo a timeless and classic look. Parents love this as it highlights their children's face and expressions beautifully. Parents love that these images look great printed and hung as wall art in their homes no matter their decor style.
What about staff images?
I am more than happy to include staff on Picture Day! The staff images will also be rendered on a solid black background with all my attention to facial expressions and posing. Your staff will love these headshots.
